About us
Regeneration in Action is a platform that unites people and organisations interested in regeneration. Its objective is to generate and promote the exchange of knowledge, practices and experiences, as well as to make visible inspiring examples that help scale up and strengthen the impact of regeneration.
With the Regeneration in Action platform, we want to contribute to facilitating, encouraging and nurturing the exchange of knowledge to collectively move towards kinder and fairer paths for society and nature. Regeneration in Action is a celebration of life, a seed of change.
Regeneration in Action was created within the framework of the activities of the Food and Land Use Coalition - FOLU. FOLU Colombia is coordinated by Grupo E3 - Ecología, Economía y Ética, who identified the need for a platform that would allow regenerative actors to connect and share experiences in the Colombian context. FOLU Colombia has led the design and implementation of the platform, which is managed by Grupo E3.
About FOLU
The Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) is a global community of actors working to accelerate the transformation of food systems. FOLU has a results-based approach to promoting productive and regenerative agriculture as one of the critical transitions to achieve food systems transformation (see FOLU's Growing Better report).
FOLU advocates for regenerative practices that are based on scientific results and that provide for people, nature and the climate. It also advocates for no deforestation associated with land conversion as part of any transition.
The Regeneration in Action platform focuses on a specific set of regenerative practices and seeks to explore the practical side. However, regenerative practices are just one of many practices and changes needed to fit within a comprehensive reform agenda that builds on FOLU's Growing Better report in the form of 10 Critical Transitions. This includes the aim that half of all ecosystem areas must remain intact and we must ensure that all agricultural lands have functional integrity (regenerative capacity; source: adapted from FOLU, 2023).
We are convinced that commiting to regeneration throughout the entire food system will promote processes of equity, inclusion and restoration of ecosystems and society
FOLU is a global platform that has been working since 2017 to transform food and land use systems into powerful drivers of development and equity, while also being net carbon sinks. FOLU unites different international, national and local actors to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the goals of the Paris Agreement and the Post-2020 Global Framework for Biodiversity. FOLU Colombia has collectively built four Roadmaps for transformation of food systems. One on a national scale and three departmental ones: Quindío, Antioquia and Valle del Cauca.
With the Regeneration in Action platform we want to contribute to the implementation of the roadmaps and encourage and nurture the exchange of knowledge to collectively move towards better and fairer paths for society and nature. Regeneration in Action is a celebration of life, a seed of change.
